The victims in the bombing attacks on churches and hotels in Sri Lanka continues to grow


The number of victims died from bomb attacks on three churches and four hotels in Sri Lanka coincides with the celebration of Easter continues to grow.
The latest data from local authorities showed at least 207 people and injured 450 others, including injuries.
So far at least eight coordinated explosions took place on Sunday (21/04). Three bombing attacks that became a church is in Batticaloa and Negombo, Kochchikade.

At least 67 people have been reported dead in the Church.


Also, there are many dead and wounded at the Church of St. Anthony in Kochchikade, one district in the capital city of Colombo.
Among those who died in Colombo, there are at least nine foreign nationals, according to a source at the hospital in an interview with the BBC.
Hospital sources in the town of Batticaloa said at least 27 people died in a church in a town in eastern Sri Lanka territory.

Officials said that explosion at the Cinnamon Grand, located adjacent to the official residence of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, resulting in damage to a restaurant that killed at least one person, reported AFP.
Interior Minister Mano Ganeshan, at the site of one of the blasts in the capital city Colombo, expressed his surprise over the attack.
A photograph circulating on the social media shows damage to one of the churches, that of St. Sebastian in Negombo. Looks to the ceiling of the Church was destroyed and there were drops of blood on the bench.



The President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena has issued a statement in order that the public remains calm and support the authorities in investigating this case.
On Twitter, Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said the attack was a coordinated effort to " killing, chaos and the anarchist's action" and the resulting injury  "many innocents ".

One other Minister, Harsha de Silva, described the harrowing sights " " at the Church of St. Anthony in Kochchikade, saying he saw  "many body parts strewn ".
So far no one has admitted responsibility for the attack, but the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense said the attack likely carried out by one group.
Sri Lankan media reported that foreign tourists the possibility of including that became a victim of the explosion.
There is a concern that this boom is inseparable with the return of members of the Group of Islamic countries or ISIS which pose a threat in that country.

Previously there were a few incidents of violence that are sporadic in Sri Lanka, which involves citizens of the Sinhala Buddhist-related attack on a mosque and buildings belonging to Muslims in that country.
This attack caused the incident the Government of Sri Lanka had enacted an emergency situation by March 2018.
Saint Anthony Church reported in Kochchikade in Colombo district, Sebastian Church in Negombo and a church in Batticaloa in the East of the country, was the target of the explosion.
Easter week is one of the major celebrations in the Christian calendar.
